This was a great quick little stash-busting project. I saw this pattern from Lola Johnson of Third Vault Yarns in the summer and thought it would be a great pair for a hat I made last year in the same yarn; Reiko by Noriko Ho.
That pattern features a garter brim, stockinette and cables so I thought the textures would pair very well with these garter and stockinette ribbed gloves with a single cable up the thumb.
I always knew this would be tight on yarn, even making them short, and I wanted to use up everything I had left anyway. So I split the yarn into two equal weight balls and knit the gloves two at a time on magic loop, which certainly made them quick. I still had to guesstimate when to cast off and leave myself enough for the thumbs, but I judged it pretty much right!
The pattern is easy to follow and I’m pleased with the final gloves, even if they are very short!
