This was another massive queue jumper. I fell in love as soon as I saw Jacqui’s photos on Instagram. One of the samples was in a stunning teal not unlike the yarn I eventually chose, the photos were on a beach, it’s an Aquarius pattern, brioche…. need I go on?!
I am a total Jacqueline Cieslak fan now, her patterns are totally size inclusive and contain more detail on measurements, fit customisation and construction than I’ve seen with any other designer so far. This one has an interesting starting construction and the pattern includes very useful diagrams so you know you’re on the right track.
I knit size 102 upper bust with a size B bust dart, and I think this is one of the best fitting garments I’ve knit to date. The yarn is delicious, I swooped on it as soon as I saw it at Unravel, it was perfect for this pattern.
The pattern is quite involved, even once you get into the main body there’s quite a few different offset things to keep track of, so you want a good marking or tracking system in place. But other than many things to keep track of the stitches themselves are quite straightforward, even the brioche waves are quite memorable.
I knit 3/4 sleeves because yarn chicken, but I like how that’s turned out actually, it feels quite balanced. This has to be my favourite make so far.
